Material Characteristics
Durable: Typically made of high-strength engineering plastics or metal alloys, such as modified plastic alloy (PC+PBT). This material has high hardness, good weather resistance, and can withstand erosion from harsh outdoor environments, effectively preventing damage to the geophone during transportation, burial, and use due to collision or friction.
Waterproof Seal: Possesses good waterproof performance, using special sealing structures and materials such as sealing rings and sealants to ensure the internal mechanism of the casing is protected from water intrusion. Even in long-term immersion or humid swamp environments, it can guarantee the normal operation of the geophone and prevent issues such as leakage and short circuits.
Corrosion Resistance: Soil and water in swamp areas may contain various corrosive substances. The material of the 30DX swamp casing is specially treated to be corrosion-resistant, capable of resisting erosion from organic acids, salts, microorganisms, etc., extending the service life of the geophone.
Structural Design
Integrated Structure: The casing is usually designed as an integrated structure, reducing splices and gaps, lowering the risk of water leakage and dust ingress, and simultaneously enhancing the overall strength and stability of the casing, making it more adaptable to complex outdoor working environments.
Cable Outlet Design: The casing is equipped with a cable outlet for leading out the cable connecting the geophone's internal mechanism and external equipment. The position and size of the cable outlet are meticulously designed to ensure smooth passage of the cable while preventing water and impurities from entering through sealing measures.
Spike Design: The lower end of some 30DX swamp geophone casings is equipped with a spike, which helps the geophone to be better inserted into swampy ground, maintain a stable posture, ensure good coupling with the ground or underground medium, and improve the reception effect of seismic wave signals.
Function and Role
Protecting the Mechanism: Provides physical protection for the internal mechanism of the geophone, preventing damage from external impacts, compression, friction, etc., while also isolating it from external moisture, dust, corrosive substances, etc., ensuring the normal operation and stable performance of the mechanism.
Fixing and Installation: The casing typically features some fixing devices or mounting holes to facilitate securing the geophone in a specific position or connecting it with other equipment, such as inserting it into the ground with a spike or fixing it to a bracket with clamps, ensuring that the geophone does not move or shake during operation, thereby guaranteeing the accuracy of signal acquisition.
Improving Coupling Effect: The appropriate casing shape and material help improve the coupling effect between the geophone and the surrounding medium, allowing seismic waves to be more effectively transmitted into the geophone, enhancing signal reception efficiency and quality, and reducing signal attenuation and distortion.
