  • Product Description
  • Characteristics

Good conductivity: Steel has good conductivity, enabling efficient current transmission and ensuring stable electric field establishment and accurate signal measurement in electrical exploration.

High strength: Compared to other electrode materials, steel electrodes possess higher strength and hardness, resisting deformation or damage during installation and use. This is particularly beneficial in complex geological conditions requiring forceful insertion underground.

Lower cost: Compared to some noble metals or special alloy electrodes, steel electrodes are relatively inexpensive, facilitating large-scale use and reducing the cost of electrical exploration.

    Applications

High-density electrical exploration: High-density electrical exploration requires numerous electrodes along the survey line. Steel electrodes, with their high strength and low cost, meet the needs for rapid electrode deployment in various terrains and complex field environments.

Other electrical exploration methods: Steel electrodes are also commonly used as power or measuring electrodes in other electrical exploration methods, such as induced polarization and self-potential methods, to send current underground or measure the potential difference of the underground electric field.

    Areas for Improvement

Weight reduction: Traditional steel electrodes are heavy, making transportation and deployment laborious and impacting work efficiency. For example, a high-density electrical exploration electrode made of electroplated carbon steel, through the use of carbon steel and structural optimization, weighs only 1/3 of traditional metal electrodes, significantly improving field work efficiency.

Rust prevention: Steel electrodes are prone to rust, which affects conductivity and service life, requiring derusting before each use, increasing labor costs and time. Electroplating the steel electrode surface, such as with a nickel-zinc coating, can effectively prevent rust.
