Physical Structure
Conductor:
The mainstream is oxygen-free copper (OFC), which has good conductivity and low attenuation; some low-priced cables are copper-clad aluminum (CCA), which has poor performance and is suitable for short-distance temporary use.
The cores are mostly 8 cores (4 pairs of twisted pairs), divided into white-orange, orange, white-green, green, white-blue, blue, white-brown, and brown according to color.
Insulation Layer:
Polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) is used to isolate the pairs and reduce signal crosstalk.
Outer Sheath:
The material is polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH), the latter being environmentally friendly and flame-retardant, suitable for indoor or high fire safety requirements.
Shielded network cables (such as CAT7) add an aluminum foil or metal mesh shielding layer inside the outer sheath to further resist interference.
